Day 2: Matthew 1:18-25
Yesterday Isaiah told of the of the Messiah to come. Today, we read about His coming.

It was difficult to read this familiar passage with fresh perspective. The part that spoke to me the most was simply "God with us". It's still amazing to me that the God of the universe would choose to enter our imperfect world and our flesh.
Also I thought about how God is still with us even today. But just as the way he came was totally humble, not flashy, and unexpected...the way He reveals Himself to us and how He moves today is often in the "non-flashy" and unexpected. I pray for Him to open my eyes to His work even when it is not obvious.
